People seek personal therapy for all sorts of reasons, but in general we want things to be different and we have a hope for a better future. Whether you’re living with depression, anxiety, or any other emotional or psychological difficulties, I can offer you a confidential and safe sanctuary and the means to move forward into a better future.
In your first session, we’ll talk about what’s going on for you and what you hope to gain from therapy. Rather than telling you what to do or offering you advice, I’ll instead help you find a way forward that makes sense and is meaningful for you; and perhaps most importantly, I’ll ensure you have the space and time to explore difficult and perhaps painful experiences within the safety of the therapy room. In the early stages of therapy, we’ll explore and come to understand the issues and factors that shape and influence your everyday life, before beginning to explore alternative ways of living in the latter stages of therapy. We’ll set the pace of the work together and I’ll always take my cues from you.
Our goal is to help you live a life worth living. By bringing issues into awareness, you can take control of them, and as you move forward through the different stages of personal change, you’ll come to recognise greater self-awareness, confidence, freedom, and new capabilities for living well.
